OK MattE, sorry to rant a bit. You're right, you're initial post was obviously not intended to confuse.
Perhaps it would be more hekpful to ask you to edit your original post to include reference to the www.donotcall.gov.au
That really is the FINAL SOLUTION to unwanted faxes.
If an end then user finds it hard to get a business fax number added to the DNC list currently, then by all means complain to them, and mention it to me.
But let's give them a chance to do their job.

Tanya - I do not know why the donotcall is so hard for business fax removal. It is easy for private phone numbers.

I included yours in my post because this was the only company that I was receiving ongoing spam from at the time.

I have never received spam from any other marketing company, so did not have the need to investigate contact people for them.

Yes and thankyou, you were very helpful in removing my number from the master list and trust you have been as helpful to others who may have contacted you.

How can you say its difficult to use the government's http://www.donotcall.gov.au/ ??? Do you know how many of your TAX DOLLARDS they invested in that system? It does work, and it is not hard.
You just register your fax number and they do the rest and the WHOLE FAX MARKETING INDUSTRY is then PROHIBITED from sending a fax to that number ever again!
Why are you making this hard for people and giving out my name and contact details?
Let these people get their fax number removed from ALL LISTS and get on with their lives instead of having to go to 10 different fax marketing companies who may or may not be as helpful as I've been.

Colin. The original post is not confusing at all. It clearly states how to get removed from the master list at your company.

Sadly there is no easy way offered to people suffering the barrage of unrequested faxes offered to stop all the faxes being sent.

By being taken off the list for say advertiser 1, means that faxes will still be sent from advertisers 2, 3, 4, ad infinitum.... unless making use of the above contact to be removed from the MASTER LIST.

Being removed through http://www.donotcall.gov.au/ is difficult if not impossible unfortunately. The best solution is for fax advertising companies to recognise that faxes fall under the same anti spam legislation as sms and email and that by sending unsolicited offers constitutes spam.

I certainly never subscribed to any list (I am unwaveringly careful about details supplied to anyone) but was getting barraged with faxes from your service on behalf of your clients.

Fortunately I was able to track down Tanya's details so I could be removed from the master list. There is nothing here suggesting that odd term 'firebombing - whatever that is. Merely who I found to contact.

I would suggest a 'master list removal' instruction also be included on all these what are in fact, spam faxes.

This is a very confusing thread!.
Allow me to clarify;
www.nofax.com.au is where you can remove your fax number from certain fax advertiser's lists. This is is how fax advertising professionals comply with the Fax Marketing Industry Standard. Numbers DO get removed pretty much instantly.
It has nothing to do with PlusOne, and it is very uncomplicated.
Other similar sites are www.stopfaxingme.com.au and www.stopfax.com.au depending where your fax came from.

If you want to stop ALL faxes, again it is very simple, go to www.donotcall.gov.au/ which is the Australian Government's facility to get your fax number "black-listed" and thus removed from all fax campaigns by all companies.

Anyone offering other advice about how to firebomb fax advertisers etc or to find someone to yell at, or using such inflamatory terms as "fax spam" have some other agenda and are not really helping.
