Web is popular amongst China’s poor

While they cannot afford computers or fancy phones, the internet is widely used by China’s migrant workers to battle boredom and social isolation.

Wikileaks needs to build “Public Good” credibility

Has Wikileaks lost its way and how can it gain the reputation of  being a universally respected whistleblower?

Wikileaks has had a tumultuous time since its launch – initially with expose’ of video showing rockets being launched at targets that clearly showed civilians in the line of fire, to the more recent release of rather banal diplomatic cables from the USA.

The most recent leaks have really served no purpose except to show that security surrounding the cables is not impervious. Apart from that, there may be some red faces, some slight political squirming, but in the long run there will be no lasting outcome.

In short, the diplomatic cables have been a farce.
