Women’s shoes – not the sort of thing a guy writes a bolg post about, but today women’s shoes can help demonstrate how good use of images can help sell product.

Check out Womens Zalo Pump shoes.

Nice picture of the shoes but hardly convincing enough to make you want to buy….but move your cursor over the image. Now we are approaching something the same as the level of inspection that you can give shoes when you are in the shop.

The site also allows various views of the shoe so you can inspect the sole carefully, look at the stitching or for other shoes, the detail of any pattern on the leather.

This allows increased confidence by the prospective customer in the product because they can see details that are normally only evident through physical inspection.

The technology for allowing this type of zooming has been available to webmasters for years as free scripts.

The essential aspect is good product photography. With the cost of good digital cameras being so low, plus a few dollars in additional lighting, even home based merchants have no excuse not to take great pictures.

The only letdown on the shoe site is in FireFox (almost 20% of users) you will find that you cannot view other shoes by clicking on the image in the image ribbon lower down the page.
