Is TV the best way to promote a web site?

I was interested to read this snippet and grap on emarketer.com’s website.
We have all had the value of email marketing repeatedly promoted to us, but even search engines and email combined still falls short of the power of TV.
While TV is outside the scope of many, it shows that perhaps even a short burst of a really innovative ad with a strong call to action could set up a useful flow on buzz about your product or service.
Interestingly social networking websites are almost non-existent as awareness creators in this survey.
The American Marketing Association’s “Mplanet” survey, conducted before last year’s holiday season, found that TV ads (37%) remained, by far, the best source for reaching and engaging online consumers with information about new products. However, the Internet (15%) and e-mail and online newsletters (14%) ranked higher than other traditional media, such as newspapers, magazine and radio ads.
