Every so often a piece of software comes across my desk that literally shouts LOOK AT ME
One such title is Timeline Maker Professional. What it does is creates a graphical time-line representation of a series of events. In its most elementary form this allows an easy visualisation of events.
The application get really interesting with its ability to embed other files into the time line. These could be photos, audio files or even video clips.
Getting the information into the software is not hard either - if entering data from scratch then simply use the interface that is styles on MS Excel, or use the import filter to bring in data from other applications.
Formatting the data into an easily understood and visually appealing style is achieved with a few mouse clicks and selecting from a theme library that can be modified to suit the colours and logos of the organisation.
The resulting presentation can then be used in a PowerPoint presentation or the whole presentation, complete with linked files can be saved using the file sharing tool and saved to CD or emailed to others.
The types of organisations who will be able to use Timeline Maker Professional is far reaching as well.
Other than emergency organisations, any investigation that would be made easier through the presentation of information in an organised and sequential basis including industry (identifying reasons for operation bottlenecks) process facilities, legal for presenting complex timelines in court, with all supporting documentation linked in for instant access or even plans and proposals with future time lines and funding injections allotted a date, to name a few.
For cost effective time line based presentations Timeline Maker Professional is ideally suited.
