US President George W. Bush has vowed to fight on, despite his savaging at the mid-term polls.

“I’ve taken worse hits in my time - I’m just like the Knight in The Holy Grail - ‘its only a flesh wound’!” said an obviously ruffled president.

Bush said he was not the least bit affected by his electoral flogging, despite now being forced to fight on with his hands tied behind his back.

However Bush’s real risk is falling flat on his nose after tripping over his shorts.

It is also hoped that once his swollen eye goes down he will finally be able to see straight down the middle.

When asked about the role of democracy on his Presidency, he replied “A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there’s no question about it.”
