This ABC News report: Civil liberties group says Telstra GPS trackers go too far does indeed raise some interesting questions.
Assuming the vans being driven are Telstra vans, being driven by Telstra employees and not contractors, then I see not too much to be alarmed about.
I am sure existing Telstra shareholders would like to be assured that ‘their’ vans are in their operational area and especially those in remote areas where safety is an issue.
Of course many companies do not tell their sales staff that the same technology already exists for mobile phones…”So employee, what were you doing 2 miles offshore at the Gold Coast on Tuesday afternoon…”
