The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association has this to say on mobile phone usage while driving:
The false claim that mobile phone use while driving is as dangerous as drink driving is based on mistaken assumptions and an incomplete review of the established research in this area, AMTA CEO Chris Althaus said in a letter published in a Queensland newspaper yesterday.
The Townsville Bulletin reported comments from local police claiming that talking on a phone while driving was as dangerous as drink driving.
Mr Althaus said such a comparison could undermine other driver safety campaigns by reducing the stigma of driving while drunk and the comparison is considered irresponsible by some road safety authorities.

Innovation can often lead to market impact that could not be foreseen. The move by Rock band Keane who will be the first act to release a single on USB flash drives, could be it…but I doubt it.
1,500 of the gadgets will go sale with MP3 copies of the band’s latest single, Nothing In My Way, later this month. The low volume is a market test.
But Keane are not pioneering the idea. Canadian band Barenaked Ladies started selling albums on USB drives last year.

A post Shortcodes In Ads Work shows that integrating mobile interation pathways into mainstream, above the line campaigns can yield results.
Spain topping the list at 29.1 percent, followed by the UK at 18.5 percent, France at 10.1 percent, the United States at 7 percent and Germany at 3.4 percent.†Unsurprisingly the most common response is to shortcodes on television, but that’s mostly for voting on reality shows and so on.
Of course with ANY campaign, it is in how the service is presented that can make the difference between a good campaign and a great campaign and provides great scope for ad agencies to leverage their creative talent to just about any campaign.
I have written before about link scammers – those who propose a link then take the link to your site off after a few days or weeks after links ahve been swapped. Then there are those who are either trying to be a bit more subtle, or just don’t know how to exchange links properly.
Take this email I received today:
This is an automated message from LinkPartners.com.The webmaster for Oakland Airport Car Service (http://www.qstc.net/) found your site Reservation Heaven on LinkPartners.com and would like to swap links.

Someone suggested that plenty of profile for Caricature King (one of our other websites) could be gained by creating a caricature of Kevin Rose the founder of Digg, (a social site ranking website) and posting the link to the Kevin Rose caricature on Digg itself.
So this is what the caricature of Kevin Rose looks like:
If you are a Digg member, pop over to the celebs page and click the Digg button. You can of course add to del.icio.us as well using the link to the right ->
