I think this may be a scam. I have never have a Telstra internet account.

Anyone else have experience with it?

Here is a story about it, but does not answer the question - why are they sending it to non-Telstra (Bigpond) customers

Dear Telstra Member,

This is a reminder that from 1st of November 2005, we will begin deleting emails in your WebMail inbox, Sent Items and Deleted Items folders that are older than 120 days (older than the 4th of July 2005).

Under Telstra.com’s Terms of Use we may delete mail that is older than 120 days. We do this to free-up storage space and assist the smooth operation of your Telstra.com WebMail service.

If you need to keep emails longer than 120 days there are two simple ways to do this:

- you can store them by clicking on ‘New Folder’ in WebMail and moving your emails into this new folder; or
- you can use an email application like Microsoft Outlook to download them to your computer. Refer to http://telstra-myacct.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/telstra_myacct.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1746 for detailed instructions on how to do this.

Emails stored using either of these methods will not be deleted after 120 days. Please remember however that the 4MB storage limit on your WebMail mailbox remains unchanged.

We trust that you will continue to enjoy the benefits of using Telstra.com WebMail.

Kind regards,

The Telstra Team
